With the recently signed free trade agreement (FTA) between the United States and South Korea, which is now rushed to the Congress who has 90 days to review the agreement along with the FTA signed with Peru, Colombia and Panama, this article looked at the effect of these FTAs and how there is a need for an FTA freeze in the current Bush administration. The author also urged for the development of a trade policy which will promote a responsible, equitable and competitive standards by adhering to clear and binding multilateral standards that define basic rights and corporate responsibilities.
